Viruses off random websites!?

Two days ago I went on a person’s MySpace then suddenly this yellow box came up at the bottom right of the screen. Then Avast (my virus protection) came up saying there was a virus wanting to be downloaded and for me to abort the connection. I did and it was fine because I did a full scan and it found nothing
Then the same thing happened today on the website for Pandora bracelets. The yellow box came up, and then Avast came up.
Is anyone else getting this?
