Will genetic screening of embryos open a Pandora’s box?

I feel very glad that this testing of embryos was not available years ago, as I think of all the lovely people I’ve known who might not have been allowed to be born because of some inherent defect. What does a parent do knowing that an unborn child has a susceptibility to disease? Will the whole attitude of society change towards disabled people on the basis that it was irresponsible to let them be born in the first place? What horrors lie ahead of us?
Fancy words for eugenics.
Apart from what you’ve mentioned, would insurance companies, refuse to cover your children?
