I love this radio and had few problems with the setup. All it does is buggy, it often loses the signal and switches about 30 seconds after I moved, and when I turn right back to the station I listened to try, no sound. Rarely drops the signal at any other time, who regularly tune in a station at the first opportunity and go to the station I really want to know when you turn it on.
I bought the Squeezebox use at home because my friend has a wireless Internet connection, but had no radio. At home I have a DSL connection and a subscription to XM. Should I cancel XM, if I could Squeezebox home? I do not think that before, but Bob Edwards only has his own talk show XMPR. XM has a great original programming not available elsewhere, DJ I love to listen and to withstand high quality, commercial-free channels. However, if I could, both XM and the Squeezebox to my house.
Part of the fun of the Squeezebox is to explore all possibilities of what we do, after several months. I love the NPR program, wait, wait, Do not Tell Me, but rarely succeed on the radio when my local station on that. The Squeezebox can be heard, or many other ways, whenever we want. It is easy for stations that play, and seek to serve, listen to a lot of musical styles – with fado, Zydeco, Cowboy, classical guitar, Renaissance and Greek. We have discovered how the unpredictability of the seasons, which reads as “eclectic.” There are many wonderful out there that do not play on commercial stations.
Another great thing about the Squeezebox is the need to eliminate the purchase of an HD radio is all the HD channels. I wanted an HD radio for a long time, but was not sure it’s still enough to justify local stations. With Squeezebox has passed the state of the art of LeapFrog.
Even if the battery is not available Squeezebox is small enough to be portable – it is also very attractive and a bargain for the price.

Pleased So Far
The squeezebox radio seems to be a quality product. It was easy to install even though the written instructions were sparse. Some of the features were not really documented and were arrived at by trial and error. I use the radio primarily as input to a larger sound system. This works very well. It has dropped the internet connection a few times, but it may be my internet source causing the problem. Overall, I am very pleased with the radio.

BUT Don’t Buy Until Accessory Pack Is Available
Like a lot of others, I have been waiting for Logitech to make available the promised Accessory Pack for the Squeezebox Radio. The Accessory Pack includes a remote control plus a battery pack that makes the radio portable and shows as selling for $49.99 on the Logitech website. Unfortunately, this Accessory Pack has never been generally available even when shown as “In Stock” on their site. For others who have been waiting, today (July 1) I received a new projected availability date of July 25 – with no promises.
In addition, when I registered my Squeezebox Radio with Logitech, they sent me a coupon code for my next purchase if used within 30 days. When I tried to use the code to Preorder the Accessory Pack, the site would not accept the code. When I contacted Logitech Sales Support, I was told that coupon codes cannot be used to buy accessories!! What did Logitech think that customers would want to use the coupon for??
Since the Accessory Pack has never been generally available, and because Logitech has had more than six months to address the problem; and because Logitech’s coupon practices are very questionable, I find it hard to recommend Logitech as a company to do business with. If the Accessory Pack is important to you, I WOULD NOT BUY A SQEEZEBOX RADIO UNTIL LOGITECH MAKES THE ACCESSORY PACK AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE. And DO NOT TRUST THE LOGITECH WEBSITE when it says that the Accessory Pack is “In Stock” – wait until the website no longer shows “Preorder” on the Accessory Pack product page.
Logitech’s questionable practices are especially unfortunate given that the Squeezebox Radio, itself, is a very good product. In fact, when I bought the radio, I thought that I would only be able to access internet radio stations by subscribing to various internet radio providers such as Pandora. I was not looking forward to this effort. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the radio does not require subscriptions or registration with any other services. Once set-up and connected to your computer network, hundreds of radio stations, local, national (by city), and wordwide are immediately available without any additional internet radio services being required! And WIFI setup and Logitech registration were easy and trouble-free. Way to go Logitech from a product standpoint!! Too bad Logitech can’t treat customers right!

I bought this for my daughter. I like the flexibility of the software. Not enough is mentioned by reviewers or even Logitech about the totally customizable alarm, which is the main reason I purchased it. I do understand that their Squeezebox software can do so much (almost endless possibilities), that they can’t possibly mention everything. I previously purchased their Squeezebox Boom (which does have a slightly better sound), so I was aware of what this unit could do. I am unaware of any other product on the market that delivers what this can for even twice the price.

Amazing Internet Gem!
Just got my radio today and couldn’t be more impressed. I can go anywhere in the house ang it gets perfect reception. The sound quality is also amazing for such a small compact radio. It is very stylish and well designed and manufactured. I would recommend this product to anyone looking to enjoy all the stations that are available on the internet. Whether it’s music or Talk Radio, the choices available will blow you away. My Sirius subscription even plays on this radio. No more fiddling with an AM radio trying to get Rush Limbaugh in an area where there are no stations that carry the show. I just turn on my Squeezebox and tune into KMOX in St. Louis, MO.

I am enjoying this radio very much. Fairly easy to set up. Excellent features. Easy access to Pandora and other services. Do get the optional rechargeable battery to make it portable.
The sound quality out of the speaker is mediocre, which is not surprising when you consider its size. Adequate for background music when I am not really paying attention. On the other hand, I connect by headphones when I want to seriously listen, then I am in heaven.
There is a minor bug where the radio has to be switched ON and OFF a couple of times before it works properly, but then it’s smooth sailing.
I recommend it highly.

I had a Squeezebox Boom which was a very good sounding radio. Shortly after I bought it many stations are switching
to AAC format. The Boom does not recognize this format. The Squeezebox Radio does recognize this. Even though the
new squeezebox radio has only one large speaker and plays mono through it, it sounds great for a bedside or desk radio.
If you run it through a stereo receiver it will play stereo. I got mine on sale for $129 and am very happy with it.
I would recommend this radio for anyone.

Wow!!
First off, I am a geezer. I still remember getting my first General Electric Transistor radio for Christmas. Yep, the gold and black one that has become the icon of that era. Well, this Logitech radio evoked the same awe and wonder in this old man that the GE did in that young boy. While not a total klutz with computers as are many of my contemperaries, I don’t have the skill of my grandkids when it comes to setting up computer related “toys”. This Logitech Squeezebox was a breeze, 10 minutes and it was putting out my beloved surf instrumental music from a Pandora preset with a sound tone and clarity that made me say “Wow”. I liked it so much I bought the Logitech Squeezebox Boom for my workshop to replace my Sirius Boombox! It was more difficult to setup as it had issues with my Norton 360 that this Logitech Squeezebox did not. What a difference a year of developpment makes. I have listened to this radio every evening for the past three weeks. Not a glitch, hiccup, or problem. If you want a great sounding radio for the nightstand or kitchen do yourself a favor and buy this Logitech Squeezebox. If you have a big room or backround noises (like my workshop) you might look at the Squeezebox Boom.

I love it!
I have really been enjoying my squeezebox. I use it to listen to sports talk and various music channels. The channels are organized both by location (US cities and all around the world) and by genre. If you are interested in listening to a specific show, it will show you which stations are playing it at that time. For example, I like to listen to “The Herd” on ESPN radio. When I select that show, it will show me stations all over the country that I can tune in to and listen. It will even show how much time is remaining on that show.
I also use this to listen to music on Pandora or on Slacker. I already had accounts on each site (easy to set up if you haven’t already). The first time, I connected to those accounts and now I can listen to all of my channels on the squeezebox. I can even send feedback if I like or dislike the songs, just like I can on the computer.
The rechargeable battery pack is still not available for the squeezebox. That would be really useful. I like taking mine around the house wherever I am working. When I have to plug it back in, it has to reset and find the wireless connection again. It is supposed to be coming out soon, though.
The sound quality is very nice for a very small product, too.

Great for International Stations
I bought this to replace a series of cheap radios I bought at Target that lasted about 6 months before breaking. This is a well built unit that can really expand your listening options. I love that I can get a radio station in Britain that I fell in love with years ago when I streamed it at work without having to have a computer on. The biggest fault is that one of the local stations I listen to keeps losing the streaming for days at a time. I think that it is the station itself messing with the location of their streaming feed and not the Squeezebox, since my research of the issue online was impacting other streaming devises as well. I’m only throwing this information in here to highlight that while providing more flexibility in choices, there is not the reliability of conventional radio.
