Where is the line between selling counterfeit jewellery and jewellery similar to designers, eg: “inspired by”?
I am trying to sell a necklace online which is very similar to a designer necklace but it was taken down from ebay. I noticed though that there is a lot of actual counterfeit jewellery on ebay (eg: Pandora charms), and was wondering why the rules don’t seem to apply to all sellers.
btw the necklace I want to sell does not have any logos or fake hallmarks.
I made it clear in the listing that it wasn’t designer, just similar.
If you still want to sell it you should email them and ask them why they took it down.
With selling fake jewellery you have to be careful to make sure that the readers/buyers know it’s a fake. If you didn’t say that it wasn’t real then that may be why they took it down. It’s obviously illegal to sell fake stuff and try to pass it off as the real thing.
But that’s just my opinion. You should email them and ask them nicely what you did wrong.
