pandora bead types
Silver/Silver plate markings?

I always thought that if a piece of silver was marked 925 this meant it was of the same quality as sterling silver. Today someone informed me that if a piece was marked with 925 it was silver plate. Can anyone help and explain who is right?
The jewellery in question is ‘Pandora’ type beads made from glass with a silver centre, so the amount of silver is not a lot, mainly curious that is all. The beads are not from England but from Singapore if that helps.
Thank you in advance for your help

If the jewelry piece is stamped 925, it is solid sterling silver rather than plated. Plated silver jewelry must be marked as plated by law.
